North Carolina State University is a leader in horticulture and turfgrass education.  They offer some excellent continuing education courses.  Follow this link to view their full schedule!

They have several Conferences and Field Days scheduled in the near future.  The next event will be on April 4th in Flat Rock, NC which is the Western Region Turf Conference.  Soon after that will be a Field Day at the Sandhills Research Station in Jackson Springs, NC on June 14th.

At the CGIN we are always looking for ways to promote more education and professionalism within our membership.  Here is an event that we think could benefit many members and be a lot of fun! 

North Carolina Irrigation Society Tour 2017
"The North Carolina Irrigation Society, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote sound irrigation management principles and provide members with information and educational opportunities related to irrigation.
This tour will visit several sites in the Rocky Mount – Tarboro area, including planned stops at a nursery operation, swine facility, and row crop and field crop operations.Technology included on the tour include telemetered center pivots with computerized panels, an articulating (bending joint) pivot, floating pump stations, and variable frequency drive pumps. Several irrigation system types, and water application efficiency assessment methods will be on display at the nursery.

Transportation. Two vans will provide transportation to the tour stops on a first come-first served basis leaving from and returning to the East Carolina Agriculture and Education Center in Rocky Mount (gathering location for tour). Self-driving is an option and will be required as vans reach capacity.

Continuing education Approved: 4.5 hrs Professional Engineers (PE), 4.5 hrs Wastewater (Surface) Operators, 3 hrs Animal Waste Operators. 3.5 hrs Certified Crop Advisors (soil & water), 3hrs Certified Conservation Planner and (CCP), Pending: 3.5 hrs Irrigation Contractors "
